Older CDRs do have a separate DAC and you can tap the "audio interface lines". They are the same as I2S, but could be left justified, or right justified or 16 bits. I have pulled these lines from two different CDRs into an ASRC (so I didn't need the clock). But if you want straight connection to a DAC, you will have to find the clock (MCK) line. Then you will have to program/set the DAC accordingly. So look around for old PCs and pull the CDRs. The older the better.
