I believe its to do with the persistence of phosphor and a lot of stuff was shot at 24 frames per second. LCDs don't have the persistence and work at 30 FPS (2:3 pulldown) so the processing adds some artefacts, most modern TVs have an option to do 24fps I believe. I haven't tried it to see if it makes any difference.
Hmmm. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Even Ed knows there are no micro-diodes, what document?
Yeah, what document? Wonder if some cable company has appropriated that quote from John here on the forum and is using it in some "white paper" marketing material.
se
Probably a paper from Malcolm Hawksford.
I'd be surprised if Hawksford said anything quite that dumb.

It was John who wrote those words here on diyAudio.

Oh, I said it too!
Ah, so it goes beyond merely dumb to snake oil peddling and disinformation. Why am I not surprised?
Oh, I said it too! And I stand by it.
You're the only one who said those words, John. And your "measurements" have been thoroughly debunked since you made that claim. Why don't you see if you can repeat those measurements with your new toy.
And for those who weren't around at the time, Bruno Putzeys measured some of the exact same cables that John did, using an Audio Precision System 2 Cascade. He was able to see more than 20dB below John's measurements, but there were no signs whatsoever of the distortion products John was getting with his antique ST 1700 and poor measurement setup that he used to back up his "micro diodes" claim.
Only a complete fool or a complete huckster would still stand behind those "measurements."

John is not a fool.
Then that leaves us with an intellectually dishonest huckster.

You'll just find yourself shadow boxing.

Here is one example of Malcolm Hawksford's opinion on wire linearity. This is from 'THE ESSEX ECHO'.
Which has been as debunked as your "measurements."

Why has MH refused to answer criticism from, in some cases, highly competent physicists and engineers? Our own jn has shown that his test setup was flawed and the results wrong.

Yes, he's merely wrong. The microdiode thing is outright stupid. What they have in common is that they've both been thoroughly debunked. Only you are still promoting one of those (Hawksford's reaction has been embarrassed silence), which speaks volumes.
