If it was just about the midrange, they'd be no reason to build giant (relatively speaking) cabinets for such small drivers
I'm a midbass *****...I admit it...so whatever design I choose has to be strong down to where most sane people may run their subwoofers. Hence the BIB's

Anyone know of a good place to get these cloth screen dust caps?
I wonder if 12" alnico guitar speakers like tone tubbys ,celestion blue or the speakers of Ted Weber could be interesting as widerangers?
I listened 15" alnico Ted Weber woofers into an open baffle and have a remarcable signature.I was in a rush when I heard these but the mark of the woofer is very very good.

Ted Weber even has a 18" woofer ,neo magnet though.
Could be the right beast for the lows if a 10" or 12" alnico as a wideband is used.
Unfortunately no TS parameters.
The mytone series is interesting,too.
You can make up a speaker with your own features and chose from
different magnets,voice coils,cone styles,etc.
Something for the experts of course, because very theoretically.
Try and error would be too costly.
Which elements should the perfect wideband driver have?
Any suggestions?
