Skyraider,

$12 for two LM3886 is still cheap for many of us Europeans at
least. I would have to pay $16 for one of them.

However, I certainly understand that $12 for two can be very
expensive for you. I am neither rich nor poor by swedish
standards, but I would probably be very rich by average
Malaysian standards, so you have all my sympathy in that
respect. However, that is rather a political issue than a
samples program issue.

I certainly agree that it is more reasonable to order samples
of components that are difficult to buy locally. I wouldn't order
samples of 3886s for instance since I can buy them easily here.
I would consider ordering samples of components that I cannot
buy locally. I think the important thing is to question ones own
reasons for ordering samples and to be fair to the companies.
Don't lie to them, tell the true reasons why you order samples
and then it is up to the companies to decide. I would suppose
they wouldn't mind supplying samples to an EE student, for
instance, since that is a potential future customer.
