Hi Guys,
I am a complete newcomer to this hobby but would desperately like to build a First Watt F1 for my AKG K1000 headphones. Can somebody tell me how I could go about aquiring PCB's and a parts list for this? I know that a circuit diagram is available for this but how do I go from there?
Any help would be appreciated!!

Ah . . . AKG K1000 . . .
I have tried it on a big tube amplifier . . .

I think F1 must be good for it.
By the way, I do not remember whether someone has offered any diy F1 PCB. P2p using perf. board could be an easy alternative . . .

Good luck.

Mystical traveller,

i'm also contemplating a First Watt DIY production for the K1000.
Not sure which F anymore as NP is pumping out products faster than i can study them. (i strongly believe NP is doing this on purpose, driving copycats mad once and for all)

With Lovoltech devices distribution well underway i was more thinking of a JFET version for the AKG, and hoping there'd be a GB design coming.
Sort of like figured that to be the last headphone amplifier i will construct, the only unreliable parameter being Master Pass.

Hi,
for PCB design have a look at: http://www.acaudio.de/F1_200.pdf
The original service manual is at www.firstwatt.com available.

Good luck

F1 Board prototype Tested..

Final Stage of F1 Amp

Now that I have a working F1 Amplifier.... Observed the following...
(I did not put Heat sink.)

MOSFET becomes Very very Hot.. (Q3 and Q4 Smokes with out heat sink)
Thick Heat sink with silicon paste and insulation is required.

Quality of sound is very good.. !

Instead of ztx550, BC557 is used.

Hi Nelson,

some one told me, your blessings are required for GB of F1 Boards !

as I have already put in for Group Buy!! did I do any mistake again !!

I have few questions:

So how can make Boards available for here ?

Can I put these boards on any other forum / sites also ?

First off, I blessed you recently elsewhere.

Further, nobody needs my blessing if they are simply conducting a DIY
group buy with their own artwork which does not carry our registered
trademarks.

Lastly, Merry Christmas (or whatever holiday you enjoy).

Suds: On your PCB you didn't spell "original" correctly!
