Hey,
You guys are distracting buzz, who was on a mission to let us know how a 4 pr 5T would work ....
well. i'm about 8 drill's and tap's away and some transistor soldering.
hi there!
any possibility for a stereo f5t with 530VA / 30V r-core transformer?
maybe for V2 its enough power?
30VAC should gave me over 40VDC- would that be ok?
Thanks!
Best regards,
Matthias
2x30V transformer?
lets crunch some numbers. +/40V and 1.6A bias will give you a dissipation of 125W pr ch. and that is maximum for your transformer.
that will give you: (1.6A*2)*(1.6A*2)*8/2= 40W class A at 8ohm.
with +/-40V rails it will give you about 85W class A/B at 8ohm.
you will also need to cascode the input fets.
