Accuracy
My numbers were generated from two different forms of the RIAA equation. First form was the (1 + sT) form using complex numbers, which was manipulated into a form that Lotus123 could use. Second form was the form where each time constant has a logarithmic term, and these are summed. The two forms were then compared for accuracy, and agreed to 5dp (dBs).
Further, the equations for the complex form were checked in a program written in QBASIC, and the results agreed with the spreadsheet.
The only common factor remaining is the computer itself...

Shelf errors
Perzackly. RIAA errors produce shelf errors, and the audible effect of a shelf error is way out of proportion to the measured error. Perhaps it's a power thing? (Active crossovers are especially critical of level errors between drivers.) Worse, it's really hard getting RIAA errors down.
