EML 300B XLS and Mesh comparison

I just did a little rectifier rolling....Telefunken rgn1064/2004/2504 mesh vs. non mesh. The Mesh add a 3D, a micro-resolution and micro dynamic which makes the sound-stage real.

Which amplifier are you using them in and what are the associated power tubes?

Reinout: After a number of years, any further comments to share on the EML XLS vs Mesh for the 300B tube? Are you still using either of these?

Good morning Eric,

i used both versions of the EML300B with much pleasure.
Both have their own musical signature but that does not mean one version is better than the other; it's just different.

Currently i don't use them anymore as i traded the big amplifier for a big turntable. As a power amplifier i use my 35TG amplifier; same circuit/schematic but simply a lot smaller and less powerfull (more in line with my 99 dB speakers).

But i know the current owner of my former TB3/1000 amp still uses and likes both EML's. Still going strong.

Thank you for the update - I appreciate your perspective on the tubes. Right now, I'm trying to decide on Mesh or XLS for the EML's.

That's one hell of a turn table! I never considered that someone might need a forklift in order to receive a TT!

I am currently thinking wether to get some Kron 842...anyone did a comparison with them ?
