Maria: that's a good suggestion. I have been useing a old iron up till now. Have also thought that I can make use od an old soldering station. In that way the heater element can be inserted directly into the body of the threaded rod to save a lot of space and much wasted heat while breathing life back into a broken station. Thanks again for the suggestion regards Moray James.
