WARNING: Tube/Valve amplifiers use potentially LETHAL HIGH VOLTAGES.
Building, troubleshooting and testing of these amplifiers should only be

the safety precautions around high voltages.
I'm lucky and I've found E83CC Philips SQ tube, and I was wondering....
Better use it in Preamp stage or PI stage?
I think preamp but I want elders to give they blessing...
Edit: omg I forgot to mention the amp: 18watter...
In any Git Amp use your best tube as the input (1st) stage of the preamp. This is the most critical in terms of noise performance and that (low noise) is one of the criteria for the SQ tube.
Cheers,
Ian
Here is my knowledge about caps in amp:
silver mica if 500pF or less needed (precision and stability)
polypropylene if HV needed (high voltage rating and good price)
