There is something to correct.
If an active PFC stage is not used, then the power for what you have described comes as bursts of current through the rectifier, and has low power factor.
It doesnt matter whether something's purely resistive or not.....the fact is, that if you DONT use active PFC, then you are using a mains rectifier followed by a capacitor bank, and that has low power factor, no matter what the load.
