I don't think the Trio is junk. I have had a Trio ecl82 amp wich I rebuild with an old schematic of an even older dutch magazine from the sixties. I have posted a couple of times about this little amp but it is still one of the best sounding PP amps I have ever build and/or heard, yes even better than a couple of quite expensive commercial ones (Yes, I mean Jadis) Never managed that with the popular bocama/lafayette la224B, I have owned a couple of them and that's really crap, the Trio iron is much better.
Don't know about there EL84 amp but it looks like it comes from the same range as mine.

yes thay do sound sweet. i would just replace a few part's see how it sound's first. i have one im rebuilding now and im happy with it. i for one would not use old iron for a new project. if it cook's your out 2 amp's

:(

here's a pic of what you can do with it:D
saved all the part's to rebuild it. fresh wood and primer:cannotbe:

i'm convinced lets duplicate it

guys you keep on convincing me, woehoe, alright i'm gonna rebuild it, but there has been a lot of changes to it, the previous owner has done a lot to it, so .... does anybody has a scheme of this amplifier ? because i'm gonna build also on a new frame and with no tone controls, balance, mute or i don't know features and withouth phono because i don't need that.

thanx a lot guys

that's just about what im doing now no pot's or phono.

not sure about a scheme ill look around for it. for me what i did
is i took a lot of pic's of each stage of the amp so i dont make any
mistakes assembling it. next stage was drilling out all the rivit's.
for wire's any wire that was cut was cut short to leave a little
color plastic ware it was cut. that help's. should end up with somthing like this.

see pic
