do i need to use the amps input sensitivity if im using headunit filters?

the title says it all... i need help im kind of new to car audio and theres still some things that confuse me. this is one of them

First, there is a car audio section you should post this in.

Second, if you want to have the correct gain structure in your system, of course you have to use input sensitivity in your calculations. I'm confused as to why you would think otherwise.
