DIY speakers- I need crossover help to finish this project… please!

I just picked these up at junk store, they are seriously well made, but have no crossovers or terminals. I need help in finding the proper crossover/terminal given the speakers.

tweeters are “Dali BC25tg19-04, DPE9.” They measure 3.3 ohms

woofers are “Peerless HDS-P835025, 8ohm (measure 6.6) 55 watts t04-1B06B0009 2018.09.24 made in china”
any help appreciated As I have no idea what I am doing!

How much time and how much money do you want to spend to create the crossover and how good do you want it to be?
There are many ways to go.
Easy
Active with amps $ 89 https://www.parts-express.com/Dayto...uetooth-Amp-Board-with-DSP-325-434?quantity=1
Active without amps $225 https://www.minidsp.com/products/minidsp-in-a-box/minidsp-2x4-hd
Fancy Active without amps https://www.minidsp.com/products/minidsp-in-a-box/flex

Passive: Find something that sort of works, but needs adjustments https://www.parts-express.com/brand/Dayton Audio?page=2&keywords=passive crossover

Passive Really good, design your own.
Learn to use some crossover design software: Quite a few hours. Good if you are going to do more of this

Cheap and easy would be great. No blutooth, or amp, just want to wire up to my 1975 marantz 2230 and be happy. It would also be good if the terminals were a part of it, so I can just drill a ~2” hole in the back panel of the speakers and wire it up. Would that be active or passive? I’m truly a newb to understanding xovers.

Good speakers but you'll need a properly designed (custom) crossover - there's quite a difference in sensitivity between them and also different impedances. They are relatively common though so there should be enough data to design something, assuming the woofer is the right one for the size of the box.

Looks like there's a design for this tweeter here: https://www.rob-elder.com/LouC/speakers/GarageMTM/Lecbos.html - with different woofers

That Dali tweeter is very similar to the Vifa BC25TG15-04, which I've used several times, once with a Peerless 830656 with crossover courtesy of Ralf Giralfino of this Forum. There's thread here about his build.

I'll have an optic at your HDS 835025 and see how it compares with yours, if it's similar enough you could use the same crossover: not ideal, but could get you most of the way there. One complication is that the 830656 is a paper woofer, yours is aluminium, so it will have different break up characteristics.

To wire them to your Marantz requires passive crossovers. So maybe work with Geoff to get the schematic of that crossover. Other wise you will need to download the software, enter the speaker TS parameters and design a crossover. Likely several weeks of learning to accomplish that. A speaker design book would help a lot.

I had a look at the Peerless, and used 'fptrace' to put in Xsim and compare with the 830656. The specs of your mids are a bit different, but as I suspected, your Peerless has the typical aluminium cone break up issues, however, these should be relatively easily fixable in the crossover with a small, cheap cap and resistor on the woofer inductor.

That's assuming the maker's specs and graphs are accurate, which may be the case, or not.

Here's the thread I mentioned:

I've built those and was very pleased with the sound, so I think with the tweaking mentioned, you would get a result. Not an expensive parts list either.

For terminals, I would use binding posts of some description.
