I know that this is getting away from the thread but thought you might like to see how we camp in west Aussie
1500 kms by road then 50kms by four wheel drive from the nearest road no freshwater, phones, wives, work etc (no sexist comments intended to all of you lovelies)
Only mates in the bush with 400 albums 360 liters of brew all the time to do nothing but sit back listen enjoy and think on the finer things in life
There was no ambient noise so the system really sounded good!
Temps around 26 degrees
God I gotta go back there

Many thanks for all the useful info. I'm intent on recycling AWG16 wire from several large unused coils for a new project.

Seeking a source for six spools on which to wind .45mH coils.

all i used was 25mm wooden dowl bored through the centre and cut into three differing lenghts 3mm plastic sheet cut for retainers and all thread rod to secure
worked a treat
