Diy 2 lcd 3d projection question

I've been looking at diy projectors from old lcd monitors and I was wondering if you could take 2 and slightly overlap them to project 3d picture? does anyone know if this is possible?

No. To project a 3D image, the two monitors would need to be in perfect alignment. Additionally, you would need 3D glasses and some way to tell the glasses (and the monitors) to switch between 'left eye' and 'right eye' .... very quickly.
The problem with LCD monitors .... The Liquid Crystals can't be switched on-and-off fast enough to display a 3D picture.
That's why there are no LCD 3D TV's.

thanx for the info I was looking ar this Hacking an old laptop into a 3D projector and I had just thought 2 lcds and one lens might have worked I guess not

could be possible, but how do you split the video signals to output left and right LCD screen?
Then you could use a circular polarized filter to separate the left and right image and focus on the screen. Circular polarized are better than linear.

I actually wrote this Instructable. You won't be able to obtain the overlap of the two images created on both LCDs with only one lens.

That being said, I'm not sure what you have in mind. As Frank Berry said, it's not enough to have the two images of the 3D stream overlapped, you then need to assign each image to the right eye.
