Hi,

I'm looking for an interesting, high quality discrete headphone amp design.

This would be for a portable application, i.e., two 9-volt radio batteries for power, so class A-B is inevitable. Intended application is high quality sound to enjoy while traveling by air or other public transit.

I'm wondering if something like the Leach circuit can be adapted for this, or perhaps a miniaturized version of Ampzilla III. However, the headphones to be driven will have an impedance of 60-100 Ohms, and I'm unsure how this impacts the OPS design.

Comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks and regards,

Rob Weinstock
