Direct Drive amplifier for DIY ribbon?

FWIW

My 2 cents worth.

I looked at finding some sort of amplifier similar to what is being discussed here.
again with a view to directly driving some ribbons.

My solution and reasoning:

I couldn't get satisfactory access to "high end " amorpous core transformers as used in the raals so I decided to experiment
Note : ribbons are 26" long x 1" wide -neo magnets

I put a 4 ohm load in series with the ribbon and hung off the end of a DIY Pass Aleph 5.
a waste of power in the resistors ? - not really the amp runs flat out (in current draw from the wall) all the time irrespective of signal level (so i believe) -so what diff does it make if the power is wasted in the resistors.?

Volume level is more than adequate - as I've noted elsewhere- loud enough to annoy my teenage kids.

The sound .....fantastic...

Thus ended my search for a direct drive amp.......

Most probably there's nothing better than an op amp driving a power buffer from +-5...+-15 v supply.
here's just a quick sim on 0.5 ohms 40 watts...Just tell me a realistic load and power and i'll find you a quick model for it.
