PhantomBox,

Do you get signal on the "dry" side of the Space Echo? You know, with no echo added?

How old is this tape you're working with? I've had audio restoration jobs where the tape was only playable a limited number of times because the oxidation ate away the magnetic coating and the process of rolling through the rollers would flake off the recorded audio. I doubt you have such a case but still, oxidation will hinder a tape's ability to take on new sound. Not to mention that in the cassette heyday you could only get a limited number of "overdubs" before audio quality dropped off substantially.

Can you A/B it with a new tape?
