I hate windows and especially windows updates. After few updates, even great working computer becomes junk.
I have one vaio laptop, purchased 1998, never on the net, never updated, works as fast as when new. Got sony soundforge and othe audio software on it. Will never connect to net.
Got few expensive hp laptops, just few years old, top of the line, which after dozen windows updates barely work.

Don't even get me started how demanding the operational system is. When you turn it on, not even working on it, not even using it, it runs 50+ processes and 50% cpu and 50% hard drive. What the heck is bill gates doing?

The DATS is a great tool, it is pretty much the only electronic gadget I rely on for building speakers. It is great for not only measuring raw drivers, but also the effects of an enclosure or crossover network.

As far as I am aware, the amplitude level in the generator mode does not affect the impedance analyzer mode. Your two graphs are scaled differently, but both appear to max out just over 50 ohms at 20KHz.

Also, the added mass is only used to determine the M(ms) and V(as) of the driver. The other T/S parameters can be found with a normal sweep.

I use rew with umic to design speakers. Generally i preffer 8 or 16 ohm speakers, had no need for impedance so far, but it looks like useful tool for sure. I am in learning phase.

Noone? Never mind. Here is big Heil amt. Its 4ohm, and has very flat phase and impedance, with just barely noticable fs bumps around ~750 Hz.

Tris is mid and tweeter domes combo from HiVi. They measure exceptionally flat fr response as i shown in some other thread. 4 ohm too, with similar fs ~720Hz.
I use both of these in the same speaker interchangeably. Crossed at ~900Hz 2nd order.

Next two measurements are a little wild and i am not sure i can interpret all.
This is Phillips two domes combo, mid dome and tweeter. For some reason it dips below 4ohm, and fs is rather weird. It comes with built in cossover, maybe thats the reason.
But they do measure well and sound fine.

This is even weirder. Two Phillips mid domes wired in series for 16ohm plus Dayton small dome tweeter. MTM. There is fs resonance ~600Hz. Impedance 20ohm. They sound great.

Last for today, its nice outside.
This is great sounding open baffle based on 4 paper cone aura midranges (they do not classify as fullrange). Fs is 170Hz as measured before.
Added are two Monsoon planar tweeters. Impedance is 4ohm.
With woofers below 100Hz this is great sounding combo.

User error. My desktop W10 install is 6 years old and has been through 3 CPU/motherboard upgrades. With my browser open and ~200 processes running, CPU toggles between 0-1% utilization, and disk utilization is 0%.

Old machines can't process updates efficiently, so it seems like resources are constantly being hogged. It's a self-inflicted problem to keep using an ancient dual-core CPU with Windows 10/11.

The scale on the screen is 2 to 5 ohm, quite a zoom.
Well, it is what it is. I just measure.

Dave, have you ever received that simple active crossover i sent you?

Yes… still working on a supply, and i need to dig out the soldering iron and figure out what caps i need to change to adjust the XO point.

Thanx again, it was a pleasant surprise to get it in th email and i love the enclosure.

Correct. For Win 10, use i3 upwards.
The older dual cores work fine win XP.
