If you built the circuit in the first post and it's noisy that's on you. TIP 41, 42 transistors are noisy, not suitable as small signal devices or even in the VAS. You can't reduce the noise by any method other than using a more suitable device. TIP142, 147 as outputs wouldn't be a source of noise, unless the resulting amplifier were unstable.
