  • "File manager" tool in web interface
  • Kernel upgrade to the latest stable version 3.16.2
  • Power saving improvements (eg. dynamic CPU frequency option)
  • Other minor changes (eg. RAM Disk)
  • Bug fixes
Update via your Daphile web UI or download from Daphile ? Digital Music Convenience for Audiophiles.

Any feedback is warmly welcomed!

Hello.

Daphile 14.09 does not boot from USB stick on HP T5720 thin client. Any idea?

Here are tech specs of my HP:
HP Compaq t5720 Thin Client (EG840AA) specifications - HP Products and Services Products

The power saving changes in the Daphile 14.09 versions seem to cause boot problems on some PC hardware. On the other hand some USB boot problems are due to the unetbootin in which case better use Rufus or Universal USB Installer. For the first case you could try the version available at web address:
You are able to upgrade the full installation of Daphile to this version as follows:
  • Access the Daphile PC using http://daphile/cgi-bin/Devel address on web browser
  • Copy the following link text (either x86_64 or i486 version) to input field besides the "Install" button
    http://www.daphile.com/tmp.poTGRr4CMo/daphile-14.09-b190546-i486.iso
    http://www.daphile.com/tmp.poTGRr4CMo/daphile-14.09-b190546-x86_64.iso
  • Press "Install" and restart Daphile PC after installation has completed
I don't recommend this version for the users who don't have the boot problems with the other 14.09 version.

The same procedure enables to revert the Daphile version back to 14.08 by using the following download links:
http://www.daphile.com/firmware/testing/daphile-14.08-b101214-i486.iso
http://www.daphile.com/firmware/testing/daphile-14.08-b101214-x86_64.iso
I try to have a better fix after my vacation next week (I'll be offline) and have the power saving settings as configurable options in the next public release.

Hello everybody!

I hope this is right place to submit my problem.

I used Fujitsu Futro s450 (http://globalsp.ts.fujitsu.com/dmsp/Publications/public/ds-FUTRO-S450-2.pdf) with newest BIOS available, 1GB RAM, 2GB CF. Daphile was instaled on CF. Booting correct, detecting internal sound card correct, playing through it also correct.

I try to connect external DAC (Amazon.com: MUSE USB DAC PCM2704 Sound Card Optical Coaxial Decoder USB to S/PDIF Converter: Electronics) with PCM2704 inside.

The Dephile detects it correctly. In setup I see both sound cards - internal and external DAC.

After cold restart (unpluged power plug) and reboot, DAC plays track selected before. When I change track while playing, DAC dying and stops play. After warm restart (software) DAC doesnt alive. Only cold restart helps. Different changes in BIOS setup didnt help (ie. deactive internal sound card). I also try different versiond of Daphile with no effect.

In other hand Daphile and this DAC running on "big" stationary PC do not have this problems.

USB in Fujitsu are smooth and handle both pendrives (up to 32GB) and external HDDs 2,5".

I tryed almost anything in setup but with no success. Could anybody help me or sugest where I should search? Thanks.

I got the web interface now Cypis but dont get any sound from any of the classical radio stations.

Did you try other then classical radio stations? What about music from pendrive? MP3, FLAC?

Do I have to set up the dac or anything else.

Almost every PCs have an internal sound card. This device have to be active in BIOS. Then Daphile detects it automaticly (in most cases ;)). Of course you can use another additonal sound card inside PC (ie. Creative, Xonar, M-track, etc.) or... just external DAC conected via USB.

If you still havent any sound from sound card or DAC you are in the same point I am.

Cypis
1 disabile card 1
2 try to enable mixer 1 AND 2

All output in both sound cards were set "on" (checkbox was marked).

IIUC the daphile-formatted info your playback device is the USB card.

Yes. I have two sound sources. Integral sound card and external DAC which Daphile sees as "USB sound card"

Hello.

Daphile 14.09 does not boot from USB stick on HP T5720 thin client. Any idea?

Here are tech specs of my HP:
HP Compaq t5720 Thin Client (EG840AA) specifications - HP Products and Services Products

Hi, A_Men,

I run a HP 5730 Thin Client on Daphile. I have found that in so far as the HP5730 is concerned, and this should also apply to the HP5720, you have to use the i486 iso and NOT the x86_64 iso.

The HP 5730 does not boot from any usb pendrive imaged from the x86_64 iso.

I suspect its because of the age of the CPU used in question which is not a 64 bit CPU.

Thanks

I solve my problem. Now DAC works perfectly.

The solution was discovered by accident. I changed old slow CF by newest one with about 16-18MB/s transfer. This helps. Strange.

But found another problem. On static IP Daphile have problems to download radio stations lists. Got msg:

Slim::plugin::InternetRadio::plugin::_gotRadioError (78) Unable to retrieve radio directory from SN: Couldn't resolve IP address for: opml.radiotime.com

With IP by DHCP everything is OK. Any idea where to dig?
