Da-capo issue (John W?)

I may bow out at this point...

I'd prefer to keep my da-capo intact as it is in my opinion one of the best dac's ever sold.

Yeah input card and filter would have been fine for me but a whole new mainboard? If thats the plan I may suggest you'd be as well designing a case and selling a whole unit so people don't need a da-capo to use it....

Thanks for helping with all my questions....

Just out of interest when we likely to see a review of your new amp/transport?

Yours

John

Ordinal

Hello everyone !

Is it possible to have a user guide for the Ordinal DAC with 1307 Da-Capo filter ?
Specially the settings for all the jumpers.

Thanks a lot.

As you see in the attached image, it's not so difficult to change capacitors. I also add a little heatsink on each TDA1547 and a power supply switch.

1307 filter module

I'll try to translate from an italian review the meaning of the dip switches of the 1307 filter :)
( I'm not much into electronics/digitalstuff )
With S/H you chose if you want to sample the audio signal every 3 seconds, to verify the DC content.
If htis option i s not ON, the 1307 sample the DC leven only when swithced on.
If the S/H switch is ON, then the HPF ( high pass filter ) switch must be ON.
The 4th/3rd switch is for chosing the noise shaper.
The DITHER is for applying a dither in AC and DC to the audio signal.
Hope this helps.
Merry Chritmas to everybody.
Loris:)

Cordinal or Cardinal

Does this integrated "Cardinal" predate the da Capo?
My son has a "Cordinal" like that integrated and as far as I can recall no filter.

I hear what people are saying..a new year..

Nirvana may lie in the future - new board, new circuits?
Any eta, John W? An email?

On the other hand a bird in the hand...?

New hope for 2007!
Maybe I will get a floor to my listening room.

Best wishes

Alistair p.:)

Hi Peter C,

Seems like you have an Ordinal PCB thats fitted within the Cardinal - (can you post a picture of the internals of the unit to confirm).

Anyway - if you see 2 rows of headers (one with 12 Pins and a second with 7 Pins), then yes you have a filter missing.

Try and source a HDCD or 22Bit Filter - these are the best - followed by the 24Bit filter.

Kind regards,

John

Clock on Cardinal & da Capo

I have just bought a da Capo which has four (4) BNC cards
and no clock interface. I have a clock interface on a PT Ordinal.

My question is:

Can I unplug the BNC interface and simply replace it with the clock from the Ordinal?
They look similar?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Alistair P.

PS

I sent the filter..
