I have a lovely Crown CE2000. It starts up great, 3 flashes on boot to indicate proper start-up sequence. However, if I turn the gain all of the way down, apply a weak signal, and then eek the gain up until I hear sound coming from my speakers, I hear a very distorted sound. If I take the gain any higher, the safety trips and the amp restarts.
With no load, the amp accepts a signal fine, and the clip light flashes at the appropriate level.
The failure was instantaneous. The amp worked fine one day and the next it is like this.
What is the most likely culprit in this situation? Bad power transistors?

Okay, the triacs are fine in the board. After further examination R7 and R1 were both blown off the board. One is no longer connected the other is dangling. How much more down the line will likely be toast? Here's the schematics.
