I have about 59v on both pads for that diode.

"both pads for that diode"? Do you mean that both terminals of the diode have 59v on them?

Don't apply power without the Zener in the circuit.

now with the zener in the circiut i still have around 59v on both terminals.

59v on the side connected to the diode and 1.16v on the other side.

That diode appears to be shorted. If it's not, the NPN and the PNP drivers may be shorted.

What's the resistance across the Zener diode in the board?

got it! one of the drivers i replaced had an intermediate short in my solder joint. when i when i installed and checked them with my meter it was all okay but i guess during the time i installed the board i must have moved that transistor and created a short.

hey need sum help got a VR705D when i apply power too it the protection light just comes on for like 1 seond and then nuin els happen its like the whole amp is dead any solotions?
