Ended up buying a Carver TFM-55 and CT-3 pre.
TFM-55 pumps out 375 watts per channel at 8 ohms.
I have fallen in love with the sound.
The sound is just impressive. Blew me away. It shows up any weak points in the system or bad recordings though.
But the bass and mid control is incredible. You can feel the notes in your stomach.
I'm hearing notes and sounds never heard before on my cd's.
Also fantastic with live acoustic recordings. Every guitar string pluck, slide and pull off can be heard so clearly.
You can clearly see the peaks in the music with the needles on the front measuring the watts going through each channel.
I'll be keeping this Carver.
