Choice of TA3020 boards

With my TA3020v1 I used a separate PSU, using 4 x Nippon Chemi-con KMH 10,000uf. The power caps on the board I had to change because I accidentally drilled a hole in one of the originals. I replaced them using some Nichicon.

Thanks people. Col I saw your review on the CNX site attached to the v3c board, didn't realise you had the v1.


I'm not looking to mod the modules actually, just want to know which option to choose when ordering (see here for the options: Connexelectronic). I want them to perform well bridged into 8ohm subwoofers. I'll be supplying them with the A1000SMPS.

Which caps would you all suggest from the options on the site? Aside from the added expense, CNX tells me the 18000uF caps are very tall - this would restrict me to a 3U case.

Guys, would 3 sla batteries in series work well with this cnx 3020 board? It would give about 39vdc. I assume itwould work but just don't know how much power it gives to a 2x8ohm PA setup. I need at least 150w x 2 at 8 ohms.

These boards need a +- supply. +- 39Vdc would give about 2x60W into 8ohms.
