ya, I have the same problem but with DACs, IV stages and headphone amps 
. the dangerous thing is I am just starting serious planning for an active speaker/monitor plus sub build for my hobby studio. I run active studio monitors and lust for ATC drivers. i'm pretty happy with the way my dac and headamps are sounding and although I still have the sickness with them, it has settled somewhat.
I get a sinking feeling that I am about to open another very large can of worms
