regarding the 'anti-tube' Wavebourn mentioned - of course there is the option to put a tube in the feedback loop of a tube, like the 'supertriode' conenction. Based on the fact that a function placed in the feedback loop becomes it's reciprocal at the output. In the real world, one is still et with the considerable problem of finding two triodes that fit well together in this approach...
