This cheap PA cab is probably tuned high. 15" PA type drivers are usually for mid bass, not sub. If so, you can get away with blocking off one of the ports. This will lower the tuning (gets rid of the boom and helps protect the driver from excursion damage when you hit lower notes.
The thing weighs 50 lbs an probably uses 3/4" particle board. I estimate the cab volume to be around 3.7 cu. ft. I would cross brace it, put in a better driver and tune the box to around 35Hz.
