You will need to arrange a floating power supply on the gate-side of the tranformer you wish to replace. An optocoupler can not transfer any energy needed to turn your fets on or off, so a little bit of secondary power is mandatory.
Also, take into account that opto's usually have a longer latency time than transformers. If your converter uses Peak Current Control, this may become critical.
