Hi guys. I have a new project in mind. One that would fit a tiny "line array" in tight spaces. On this one efficiency would not be as important as my last build which is a pa. This will be used in small spaces like cars etc. Accuracy will be the key, cost may be a factor, 2" or less is paramount. What do you guys think?
Tough to beat a tiny TC7FD, little brother to the famous TC9FD.

Well....I am within 4 feet of my small line array stage rig, walk away and still hear about the same (excellent) fr balance, without notable hf variation, I would assume that a small full range "array" in a car or rv crossed over to hidden sub will also work well. Worth investigating imo.
Your honesty is duly noted sirI find the Tymphany TC6FC00-4 to be exceptional in detail and the Neodymium magnet makes transients really shine. I cross them over sharply (24dB/octave) with an electronic crossover at 300Hz, so not strictly full-range, but wide-range. Good luck!
I thought comb filtering would not be an issue if drivers were within 1/4 wavelengths of highest frequency. On a 2" driver we are getting pretty close to coupling everything from 10k up are we not?
With a pair of 2” C-C pushes ¼ wl up well over 20k, but in an array — assuming ear is at the middle driver — C-C is 2” x n/2 so combing will happen at lower frequencies will it not?

I was thinking no comb filtering from 10k down I meant to say. Probably thinking 9 drivers per stick. Depends on the driver I go with. Pretty amazed at what my little 9 unit 3fe25 stick is doing combined with a 12" car sub in a 1 cubic foot sealed box is doing.Incredible spl actually. With a pair of 2” C-C pushes ¼ wl up well over 20k, but in an array — assuming ear is at the middle driver — C-C is 2” x n/2 so combing will happen at lower frequencies will it not?

Way more than my Mackie units were doing and clean clean clean, deep deep too.☺
As we age combing becomes irrelevant.
my last audiogram is the best of my who!e life, and i'm not really young
why not use waveguides instead of conb filtering, it is easy to do with small drivers.
