I have several pressed CDs with rot, like snail tracks, eating in from the edge. I also have one gold CD by Extreme that cannot be read on any drive these days and I believe it is a form of CD-R that has erased. I do find that some drives are better than others at reading damaged CDs and maybe reporting read errors to EAC
