Best enclosure for Fostex fe206En

Yes freddi,
I have tried the 206 in almost everything other than the Karlson K12.
If you send the plans it will be my next project.
In the net there are so many versions of different scaled down versions
Of the Karlson, I was reluctant to choose what to build.
If you please send the plans of the K12 which you tried and approve
Then I will choose that.
I strongly believe that we have a duty to reveal the wonders of the
Karlson to the world of diy without letting it fade away.

John.

Yeah, it has the right specs for a K, especially if tuned with a period correct tube amp with varial DF tone controls, though the K15 I was involved with used a 15" w/whizzer and while it was a whole new, exciting, experience for me 'boombox' wise, the mids/HF was a mess to my young, live band oriented hearing that I find it hard to believe a ~scaled down one would be any better.

hi srian

fwiw I used the earliest K12 aka "Karlsonette" as was handy.

If you decide to build. I would suggest keeping the cutout for 12 inch driver then using an adapter for the 206. That way you would have future options if the 206 experiment doesn't please (or you wish to try larger drivers).

The first K12 - introduced at the Fall 1954 Hotel New Yorker HiFi show:

Karlson's second K12, introduced ~1956 and plan published in the July 1958 issue of Popular Mechanics. It featured a lossy 6-slit distributed vent:

Sometime in the 1960's Karlson offered a kit K12 with option of blank port board, and assume there were instructions on drilling holes for a distributed vent for different drivers. It like all K12 had the same outside dimensions, but brought back the full width lowpass shelf and 30 degree tilt. (K12 #2 had a 25 degree slant baffle.)

Examples seen had 12 holes (Tannoy, EV):

There was a K12 variant which has been quite popular outside the US, published in June of 1963:
