I think that the OP simply means to say "shot noise". However, a common term like "hiss" or just "background noise" is probably better when the actual noise source isn't known. Is that right, 70sanson?

Your description is too vague to tell us anything. A broken speaker could mean it's silent or makes any of a range of sound effects. If the sound is pulsing, as you say "tak-tak-tak", it could even be "motorboating" or low frequency oscillation. Is it a steady pulsing sound even with no signal input?
