Ive seen the graphs of the various channels

Centre 100hz to 10khz

Rear 100hz to 10khz?

so if your using standard processing, having audio gear that can reproduce those freqs is no use......

Find the site- see the graphs, check that its the one u have, then ul know for sure :)

I dont like buying commercial gear with in adaquate info on what it actualy does!

'x-bass '' " amazing effect" " another amazing effect you dont need"

" wierd sounding effect for making tv sound like its underwater"

etc :xeye:

From the Dolby site:

"Dolby Digital (AC-3), Dolby's best-known digital system, is used to provide multichannel surround sound in cinemas from 35 mm film, and in the home from laser discs, DVDs, and digital broadcast television, cable, and satellite systems. It enables the transmission and storage of up to five full-range audio channels, plus a low-frequency effects channel (LFE), in less space than is required for just one linear PCM-coded channel on a compact disc. Additional features include the transmission of metadata that can control playback parameters such as dialogue-keyed playback level, and the ability of two-channel decoders to downmix multichannel soundtracks. "

Note the phrase "five full-range audio channels"

Dolby, of course, is not THX and if your interest is not music then this is not particularly relevant. On the other hand as sam9 says,

"Consequently, the question may hinge on what are these speakers to be used for."
