Hi Guys.
hi got a pair of audio nirvana super 8 (steel frame) last week.
It was just for fun because I never work with that kind of Full Range.
first of all, I put it in a 50L BR box for testing it.
first impression.. "sorry" I dont realy like it. it's so loud in the upper med and high, sound agressive, uncontroled (to my tast) non-realiste sound.
so, I just want to understand why it's sound like this.
-it is just a personal tast ?
-that driver is not that good?
do I have another option to love them ? notch filter ?
If somebody have an idea for me, let me know.
Jee.

I have a pair. On axis the response rises above 1KHz, so you might consider
a -6 dB or so shelf at 2 KHz.
You can put that together with a coil in parallel with a resistor, those then
in series with the driver. Typical values for the coil would be 1 mH, typical
values for the resistor maybe 8 ohms. Figure on having a .5 MH and a 4
ohm resistor handy to try.
If your preamp has a bass control, that will probably take care of the rest.

AN 8"
Hello,
i made a few satellite horns
Trumpet, Horn, Schalmei
you lift the area below 800 Hz,
but you need a sub below 100 Hz.
Or take a view to my double horns:
Saxophon, RDH20, Posaune XL
all with rear invers +- changed driver,
Monacor SPH-210, bass down ~30 Hz,
the AN8" is more a horn driver than BR.

My AN CF 12's are sensitive to insulation size, type and placement so experiment . I tried a few insulation things that didn't help and quickly pulled them out going back to the simple original CSA reccommendation.
The 8's probably want a larger box than 50 L . I think it is recc. for 80 L.
You didn't mention what amp you're using with your rig.
My tube amp likes the Zobel I added to my AN and the simple contour circuit similar to what Nelson posted takes care of the rising upper mid and top end.
