I am designing my first 2-way speaker (after the success of my subwoofer using the 12" peerless XLS). Anyway the tweeter is 6dB more sensitive than the mid-woofer. In order to match the woofer and tweeter, would I have to attenuate the mid-woofer or the tweeter?
You can only bring down the tweeter sensitivity. You can use an Lpad, you may also want to compensate for baffle step loss. That is about all the help I can give, someone more knowledgable maybe can be more specific.
1: You can add another Woofer and parallel it. That'll raise the db by 6
2: You can by an L-Pad resistor and install it in the Tweeter circuit.
3. I buy a bunch of 1,2,3 & 4 ohm audio grade resistors & tweak it that way.
