I have the Subbu V3 DAC playing with the JG Filter Buffer and a WaveIO card fed by three psu's
(Subbu and Sjostrom Audio) and am about to case it up.

Did you find I2S was a huge improvement instead the embeded spidf ?

No, for now I am using the Subbu how it was meant to be...

Believed the WaveIO was an USB to I2S ! Is it a USB to SPIDF ? or does this pcb provide also this option ?
Ah Ah, don'take this ladder, JP should going to have a Heart attack if you swap the 3 resisitors, scratch the gnd layer for soldering 3 uf.l connectors
Maybe you can Subbuted a Curryman DAC which is I2S at input... could be a spicy ladder !
