ok here is a non-hum question. I have built this kit bare bones on purpose to allow for future tweeking. Is running this amp as is dangerous for my speakers? I have a pair of fostex diyers that I can use no problem but my more expensive speakers make me nervous. How can I go about to insure their safety?

idealy you want some DC protection too... in many error conditions the chip can pass a full rail's DC through the output...
If the amp does not fail or display erratic heating, shutting down etc. during the first hours of testing... it probably won't fail for a long time to come.... especially if you just leave it on allways...... provided it is well vented and heatsinked...
