Is this wire (attached) in place and intact?

yes the wire is there , but the screw that is going thru the hole doesnt go into the heatsink..its a short screw

Some of the kicker amps will do strange things if the heatsink isn't grounded. Find a screw that will go into the heatsink.

I am also working on a kx1200.1 , the 3205 fet's were all smoked as well as the drivers, i had seen that perry had suggested 47 ohms gates resistors instead of the 100 ohm as originals? Also just for my info , the original drive transistors in this one were labeled ASG D2 , however perry had said another part number? just wondering as to your reasoning for us who want to know.....
though i am gonna follow perry to his suggestions !!!

When using the IRF3205s, I recommend using 47 ohm resistors if the original resistors had a value greater than 47 ohms.

I use the MMBTA56 as replacements for the KTA1504S (ASG) because they are rated to handle more current.
