I ran into this, I posted it here or emailed Perry but I can't find it. So many numbers, I sure can't remember them all but I look closer at specs now.

What I see is the KTD crosses to the 2SD but the 2SD998 from NEC is not the KTD998 from KEC. The other one (2SB778) is the same, at least in the order I bought from MCM.
Note how this page says 10A compared to the other MCM link I posted (that was 1.5A): http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/2SB778 I didn't read it and got the same deal, could not find the right 998 anyplace but epay.
I just put two pair of these in an amp tonight and power tested it, no smoke.
