amp died while biasing

Bias current

Just saw your thread. 5mA bias is too low. Commonly bias is set between 10 - 30mA (some 50mA). It is very unusual to see 125mA in a standard AB amplifier. Your transformer may still be fine.
Check everything out and replace the "dead things". If you need outputs, I agree with N-Channel, MJE15022/15023 (16A). These are designed for audio.
I would leave the filter caps alone right now. Possibly replace them with the same value. The supply will have lots more umph with the bias turned down.
Just remember to check the bias current cold, warm and hot. Make sure it tracks in an acceptable range.
