no, it means he is supplying 2 versions one with Ti flip-flops, one with pot-semi. the pot-semi version requires more involved layout due to higher speed. This is why I kept harping on about not using them without a proper PCB, or even a ground plane.

both will have all functionality afaik

I think you've misunderstood how panellising works. When Acko says he will panellise the boards. He means that you will get a one board that probably has a v-cut down the middle to split off the two separate designs. If you want two of the potsemi boards I think you'll need to order two sets. I thought you were keen on the free chips that will suit the other design? The higher speed potato semi chips may cause issues if the signals following the flip flop through to the DAC chip are less than well implemented.

I've definitely got my wires twisted here. What would happen if I bought one board ? Would it be the Potato ? And if I buy a second, it has to be the other variant ? If so, I'm going down to one board, or up to three.

good chance Acko is using this as a nice opportunity to test that out himself.

faster puts more demands on the layout as stated above, that includes what you are connecting it to and thats all i'll say on that. Acko will have done what he can on his side and his boards are definitely built to take it, but whether that applies also to you may not be so cut and dried.

KK as mentioned, you get one of each.... on one board, which is split in 2. ie. panelized
