These guys have info about good and bad types and brands of caps -including relatively obscure brands prone to failing due to ¨improvisations¨ in the electrolyte formula due to dumb industrial espionage.
Not a very ¨audio intensive¨ site, but perhaps useful.
I hope that the info would be good to some of you.
Cheers

capacitors
Yes, Hugo, evidently...
Here in Argentina is very difficult to obtain good caps.
Strange and suspicious brands abound -REC, Teapo, etc-; I believe that in a due time, somebody will import some caps branded ¨elcheapo¨, ¨ordin-air¨ or ¨BSCap¨..., made with seawater and tissuepaper...
Sometimes, for mere luck, I have found something good: Nichicon, Matsushita... But there is no way to know about the date of making . It could be 1981...
I found that site collecting info about one of those suspicious brands -REC, or TREC, or something alike-...

buying caps
I`m still reluctant to buy via Internet, but I suppose it´s time for a debut!
Mere luck is not a good way to obtain quality components; I like this hobby very much to leave it´s results to chance...
I have read a lot of good comments about Farnell, so I´ll try them in the future. Thanks fot he tip.
