Hello all,
I need help. I have a 80 VCT torodial transformer in an amplifier. I need to add a speaker protector which requires 8 - 12 Vac @ 40 mA. I do not have a long enough piece of magnet wire but have some inductor pulls which I can unwind.
My question is is it okay to splice the magnet wire to get a long enough piece?
The longest piece I have is ~ 6 feet and I think will need maybe 20 or so feet so would need to splice at least twice.
Thanks
Andrew

Don't locate the splice on the top or bottom faces of the toroid.
The inside is well protected from interference and could be the best location for reliability.
The outside edge is visible and allows one to check for damage to insulation.
But do protect both under and over the splice.
