Hi there,

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could add a motorized volume control/remote control to a Rotel RA-870BX?

Though it's not as important, it would be nice if I could also switch the input selector via remote control as well.

For the handheld remote, I'm thinking of using my Logitech 676 universal remote.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or suggestions

Well I have just tried this with a view to incorporating it into future builds,

It's the best design I have seen so far and works well with RC5 codes "learnt" onto a Cambridge M1 Explorer touch sensitive learning remote. I use a PICKIT2 USB programmer.

Input selection is more difficult to implement on a commercial amp. My current amp uses a bought in PIC module that works in a similar way to the above but it only has 7 channels.

I use FET's for input switching, way better than any mechanical switch,
