Hi, I am building a small tube amplifier and when I got to the heater power supply part I got confused about the requirements.
-Does it matter if I use AC or DC for the heater filament?
-Do I have to ground the filament input?-pin 4 on the attached schematic shows that it is grounded.

some people have positive feedback on AC heating. and other have prefer DC heating as well. search the forum and see what others have said.
pin4 to ground. From what I've read recently, both heater pins can be connected to AC ground via a .01uF cap. I haven't come across a suggestion yet on connecting it directly to ground.
