Next to nothing. Actually 100k is quite high for a solid state amp..thanks, what difference would a 50k make?
Usually its 10-20k.
So go right ahead and use the pot you have.
I don't understand it a 100% myself.
Apparently the preceding stage needs an appropriate load. Most preceding stages these days are the op-amps in a cd player that have very low output impedances so they can play into any load really. Making it rather irrelevant if you use a 10k or 100k pot AFAIK.
Maybe someone who knows his stuff can chip in.

Practicially none...although one pot "sounds" better than another...but that is a different discussion.what difference will it make though?
anyone know where to get an A400 volume pot ?
My A400 pot is a little scratchy, anyone know where i can get one ?
Ive tried cleaning with a good electrical cleaner but not the Craig products as yet.
Only option i can see is possibly a Alps one off ebay but loosing the balance facility ??
