Hi Guys,

I've attached a PDF with the breakdown of the part cost for a group buy of the SMD parts.

Looks like it would be about half the cost if 19 people were committed to the GB versus everyone buying their own parts.

I've only included SMD parts since they're easy to slip into a padded envelope along with the PCB. It also helps to control my costs. I'm already on the line several hundred for the PCB, and this adds another $400 to that.

There are a number of other parts that would benefit from a GB scenario, but I'll have to leave that to others if they'd like to give it a go. Things like the heatsinks, the input/output caps for the PSU, and especially the Caddock resistors could really benefit from a larger single purchase as they drop from $3.94 each down to $2.64 at 100 pcs. They might be even cheaper directly from Caddock.

I see i'm not included on the smd. I do want 1 set, so will add now. I am making an order with conrad for some sinks, if anyone is interested I can grab some for others? owen, I would like to get more SMD parts that are in the BOM, but not for the IV board so the numbers would be not just a matter of adding another order. is this OK Owen? it would not be a complicated extra order, just 1 or 2 values to take advantage of the GB pricing as I use these parts regularly. of course I dont need the full set, because i'm not using the reg section at this stage

no problem mate, its true I wasnt since i'm not getting the full set, but probably will get some other extras if possible, maybe best not to be on the list at all and clear it up with opc so as not to cause confusion. I will leave it as is for the moment, he should know whats going on and i'll send him a PM a bit later after I work out exactly what I need.

so what about other GBs guys? apart from some SMDs, I dont really need much specifically on the BOM as I already have the semis and power resistors, but if anyone is keen on conrad sinks let me know and i'll grab it with my order. I would be keen on some linear tech LT317/337 and LT108X series regs for other projects. I would be keen on some stuff from Caddock if we buy direct, I dont need more of the 400 and 200R though, but could use some 1R0, 10R0 and 0R47

I have a rail of the FQA32N20's so if you're having a lot of trouble finding them, I can sell a few from my stash. I'm actually going to consider offering these matched for transconductance and VDS, but I'm not sure if I have a large enough number to get good matching. I'll see how things looks when I go to match my pairs.
